Located in the historic Los Rios District of San Juan Capistrano, California, Rendezvous, is a family owned, high-end restaurant serving a seasonal menu of New American Cuisine prepared by an award winning chef. The restaurant is housed in a unique 5,000-square-foot structure that consists of a 1927 Pullman dining train car, an 1897 adobe freight house and several rail freight cars all enclosed within a former passenger platform that is studded with vertical I-beams.
The task was to create a rich experience destination to complement the chef’s bold menu. The challenge, take a rundown country western saloon and turn it into one of Southern California’s top restaurants. With the Pullman train car as inspiration, a “Roaring ’20′s” concept seemed perfect and the name “Rendezvous” more than fitting. Then it was a matter of applying it to the interior, exterior, logo, menu, printed collateral, marketing material and website.
