Diagonal was founded by Bradley Hamblin and Alexey Ikonomou in 2008. Together, they offer 20 years of experience covering all facets of visual communication. Over the last decade, they have garnered a number of awards and accolades at various agencies in Baltimore, DC and New York City.

BRADLEY HAMBLIN
Hamblin has developed an all-encompassing approach to design covering interactive media, illustration, print and identity development.

Before Diagonal, Hamblin pursued opportunities in New York City as a freelance Art Director where he worked with high-profile clients including Southern Comfort and Astralwerks Records.

In addition, Hamblin was a co-founder of Vitamin, a Baltimore-based design firm; developed the identity system for an international furniture company; and worked as an interactive designer at G1440 and no|inc where he designed projects for College of Notre Dame, Sylvan Learning Center and Baltimore School for the Arts.

Hamblin is a self-taught artist and graphic designer native to Baltimore. His work has been recognized by Summit Creative Awards, American Design Awards, ADDY Awards and American Corporate Identity.

ALEXEY IKONOMOU
Ikonomou has acquired a diverse background in the design industry from packaging to interactive environments to world class architectural projects.

Prior to Diagonal, Ikonomou worked as an environmental graphic designer at the design and architectural firm RTKL, where he worked on numerous projects around the world including in London, Korea, Portugal and Dubai.

In addition, Ikonomou was a co-founder of Vitamin, a Baltimore-based design firm; designed and directed a major restaurant design project; and worked as a graphic designer for the Atlanta-based design firm Antista Fairclough, where he worked on packaging for Anheuser-Busch, Inc., British Petroleum (BP) and Gillette.

Ikonomou studied at Towson University, and holds dual bachelor degrees in both business and mass communication. He pursued graduate studies at Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA, where he won the prestigious design award from the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD).
